When things become out of control
where life is one big mess
upheaval looms and dread is born
a soul is in distress

heavy are the burdens carried
the weight is much to bear
a mind cannot handle the stress
one’s hope becomes despair
____
all of life’s unbearable pain
with darkness all about
seems magnified in troubled times
man gropes for his way out
____
man believes he is in control
himself he does rely
he even thinks that he is god
evil is in his eye
____
even God’s children have to cope
their troubles are as real
but God has made good provisions
to help in these ordeals
____
when a mind will make that choice
in giving up control
Jesus comes in to take command
and purifies a soul
____
in relinquishing one’s status
of ruler o’er one’s life
God will never let anyone down
who will walk in His light
